THAILAND 🇹🇭 | "รำประเลง" Rum Praleng dance

 

The Ram Praleng(รำประเลง) is performance show with the longest history that can be traced back to the Ayutthaya era. "Ram Praleng" is an auspicious introductory show for the entire performance. The performers are clad as hairless male angels dancing along with the "Klom music" and "Chamnan music" with peacock feathers in their hands.

In the Thai praleng is two performers wearing god masks and holding peacock feathers in both hands perform an offertory dance to the god before the main dance-play begins.

รำประเลง เป็นชื่อระบำเบิกโรงของละครไทย มีมาแต่โบราณตั้งแต่ครั้งกรุงศรีอยุธยา เข้าใจว่าตรงกับการแสดงที่เรียกว่า “ปรุวรงค” ของละครสันสกฤต

"ประเลง" เป็นระบำคู่ ๒ คน ผู้รำแต่งตัวเช่นเดียวกันกับนายโรงละครไทย คือการแต่งกายยืนเครื่องพระแต่สวมหัวเทวดาศีรษะโล้น มือถือกำหางนกยูงข้างละมือ ไม่มีบทขับร้อง มีแต่เพลงหน้าพาทย์ ประกอบจังหวะการรำ เรียงลำดับดังนี้ คือ เพลงกลม เพลงชำนาญ เพลงกลม(ครั้งที่๒) และเพลงเชิด
