"หมวกกาบ" Muag Kab, Muag garb: I-san embroidery hat | THAILAND 🇹🇭

✦ The Muag garb is a hat that is used in rituals in Northeast Thailand.

It is a triangular shape hat embroidered with threads, silk threads, and goldwork.
Popularly embroidered on red cloth, lined with leaf sheaths of betel nut, adorned the pointed top of the hat with silk tassels or gold threads.

✦ It can be found in the Naga ordination ceremony(บวชนาค), the Hodrong ceremony(Thera Phisek: ฮดสรง, เถราภิเษก), and in the ritual of asking for the rain of the Isan people in Bun Bang Fai (Rocket festival: บุญบั้งไฟ).
Sometimes, villagers make this kind of hat to offer Buddha images as Buddhist worship.

✦ The Muag garb is also found in Lao PDR too. The monk used in coronation ceremonies and Mahachart sermon (เทศน์มหาชาติ "เวสสันดรชาดก").
