When entering the Thonburi period until the early Rattanakosin, the Thai military system is still the same as it was in the Ayutthaya period.

✦ The breastplate used among Thai warriors in the early Rattanakosin period was the collar, which was a sheet of cloth or leather for covering the body around the shoulder, upper chest, and upper arm of the wearer.

✦ This can be seen from the wooden sculptures depicting soldiers on the doors on the east wall of Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall in the Grand Palace, Art in the reign of King Mongkut or King Rama IV, it was found that Krong Kho: กรองศอ, กรองคอ (Collar) was decorated with a lion pattern on the chest protection plate, and shoulder pads on both sides.
