Wai Khru (ไหว้ครู) is a tradition for Muay Thai fighters to pay respect to their teachers, coaches, or trainers before the fight.
Muaythai has had a strong influence on neighboring Cambodia. Recently, Cambodians developed martial arts styles called Bokator and Kun Khmer, inspired by the widespread popularity of Muaythai—especially after the release of the world-famous Thai movie Ong Bak, starring Tony Jaa, in 2003. This is why Bokator and Kun Khmer are often seen as the copy version of Muaythai from Thailand.
